At Center For Foot And Ankle Care, PC, we always look for conservative means of alleviating foot and ankle problems.
There are circumstances when conservative treatment alone will not produce the desired outcomes and surgical intervention may be necessary.
Once surgical intervention has been determined to be a viable course of action, we work closely with our patients to keep them informed from the point of evaluation, pre-op, the surgical procedure itself and the post-operative course of care. Minor procedures can sometimes be performed under local anesthesia. More complex surgery such as reconstructive foot and ankle surgery done in the hospital.
It is always our objective to get our patients back to work quickly, back to the recreational activities they love and to restore the quality of life that they deserve.
ARTHROSCOPY
What is arthroscopy?
Arthroscopy is a much less invasive procedure than other surgery. Ankle arthroscopy allows for direct visualization of the ankle joint through a camera to detect a variety of problems such as cartilage injury. Injured cartilage can be repaired through this minimally invasive approach in most cases.
